Kids In The Dark
I wrote Collision: A Dark Romantic Suspense for everyone who feels like my main characters. Lennon and Daniel.
Whether your trauma has been witnessed by the world and ignored, or whether you’ve had to bury it under so many layers that you don’t even know who you are anymore, this book is for you.
And I truly hope it finds readers who see themselves in the pages, who understand why Lennon freezes in moments of fear and why Daniel is always ready to fight.
I’m taking a chance telling this story about trauma and tenderness, hurt and healing because it can be so easily misunderstood.
One of the themes of the series is the family disease of alcoholism or substance use disorder and how it runs through families like wildfire, hurting those who have never touched a drop, and the wounds that can be felt for generations.
I wrote this book for anyone who knew what kind of night they’d be having simply by the way a parent breathed or walked in a room, those of us who spent our younger years listening for the key turning in the door.
I think a lot of us still do that as adults without even realizing it.
When you grow up that way, it’s challenging to recognize when traumatic experiences occur in other areas of your life. That’s what this story and series are all about.
This was the book I needed when I was younger, and that’s why I wrote it.
